Lesson from a Puzzle

This is probably my favorite puzzle we have done so far. Puzzles come in assorted sizes and take different lengths of time to complete. Sometimes they're fun, sometimes they're when the last piece is put in, the puzzle is finished. And so it is with our lives. Some are longer than others, and we all face  frustrating times, sometimes they're boring, sometimes they're challenging. But one thing they all have in common is that when the last piece is put in, the puzzle is finished. And so it is with our lives. Some are longer than others, and we all face challenges. But one thing is certain; one day the "last piece will be put in place" and our life will be over. But the difference between our life and a puzzle is that we don't know when ours will be finished. Our Creator has the Master Plan and we can't see it from our side. And so, we must be ready.

The first Mother's Day I spent without a mother was 1985. My mom had passed away just a few weeks earlier, and to us, it seemed she was gone too soon. It was sad and it was difficult, but I remember being so excited for her because her cancer was gone and I knew she was in the presence of her Savior. We knew her faith and trust was in Christ alone and it gave us great peace and joy. Do you have that peace?

John 14:6 Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by me.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

If this were your last day, would you be ready to face eternity? We need to believe in Jesus and receive him as our Savior so we can become a child of God.  And if you are ready, tell your loved ones, so they will be able to have peace when your last "piece" has been put in place. On the Victory Side

There is so much darkness in our world today. 2020 has been quite the year, and humanly speaking, our future is not looking too bright. COVID-19. The government controls. The racial tension. The looting. The rioting. The burning. The destruction of our nation and its history. The division of our nation. Our freedoms are disappearing right before our very eyes. Sin is rampant. Truth is trampled on. It’s a very bleak outlook for our beloved country and sad and scary time to be alive.

But, thank God, Jesus is the Answer! We know that in the end, that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, and every tongue will acknowledge God. ( Romans 14:11) For those of us who know Jesus, a glorious future is awaiting us. We will spend all of eternity with Him, with no more sorrow, no more tears, worshiping, and praising Him forever.

We’ll be going through some trials in the meantime, but we are on the victory side, and nothing can touch us that doesn’t have God’s approval. He has the final say. He is the VIctor, and this should encourage us to be steadfast and enthusiastically serving and praising Him, for none of it is in vain.

If you don’t know Jesus, Romans 10:13 tells us, “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” You can become a child of God simply by calling on Him and asking Him to forgive you of your sins and trusting Him with your eternity. Then you too can enjoy walking with Jesus and can look forward to an eternity with Him.

1 Corinthians 15:57-58 But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

This song came to mind - one that we sang often when I was growing up.

The Bible says the Euphrates river will be the initial division between the North and the South when the nations of the world begin to align in preparation for the battle of Armageddon. It is in this last battle that the nations of the earth will fight Jesus Christ and His angels coming down from Heaven. Jesus will conquer all the armies against Him and will begin to directly rule the world from His throne in Jerusalem.

The shrinking of the Euphrates, a river so crucial to the birth of civilization that the Book of Revelation prophesied its drying up as a sign of the end times, has decimated farms along its banks, has left fishermen impoverished and has depleted riverside towns as farmers flee to the cities looking for work.

“Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared.”  Revelation 16: 12

The Ninety and Nine

There were ninety and nine but that wasn't enough
for one of them was missing.

I won't come home as one is still lost and
continues to need my assisting.

Then I saw him astray, in the briars he lay,
on the brink of disaster I saw him,

At the edge of the cliff and about to drift,
into the abyss of sheer desolation.

I couldn't be heard o'er the tumult of life and
the sea of earth's utter distractions

So I quickly strode and firmly took hold and
gave him my total protection.

On My shoulders I carried him back to the fold and
oiled his wounds that lay open.

I then laid him down in my pastures green and
never a word was spoken.

But when he awoke and saw on My face
the depth of My love and compassion,

He cried in relief to Jehovah above and
pledged Him his total devotion.

He was saved by Grace through Faith in God's Son
And I think I heard angels rejoicing,

For once he was lost and now he is found!
What abundant and multiple blessings!

Come stand with My bride over here on My right
in the Lamb's Book of Life your name's written.

I've prepared you a room in My mansion above
and together you'll dwell with all nations.

You'll then reign with Me for eternity
in the House of the Lord forever!

This is an amazing soundtrack that gave me comfort, and even joy, as I thought of the three grandchildren we have waiting for us in heaven.  I had tears in my eyes as I listened.  I hope you will take the time to listen to this amazing story.  You can listen while you check e-mails, but you will probably want to stop and listen more carefully.  It's that good!!  This was sent to me by a friend, Linda, whose toddler grandson recently died with no warning.

Jesus said we must become like little children to enter the kingdom of heaven.  Colotn Burpo, a four year-old boy, lost consciousness on the operating table and caught a glimpse of heaven.

I knelt to pray but not for long, I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work, for bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer, and jumped up off my knees.

Do You Enjoy Packing for Trips?

Packing is not one of my favorite things to do.  I'm afraid I'll forget something important.  Then while lying in bed, I often wonder what else I need to take along, and usually I end up taking more than necessary.  Just ask my husband!  A master list I've compiled, and shared in Heart to Heart a couple times, does help a lot, although I'd just as soon enjoy the trip, but skip the packing all together!

Well, one of these days I'll be going on the trip of my life, and won't need to pack a single thing!  It will happen "in the twinkling of an eye," and I am ready!  I pray each one of you is ready as well!  If, you're not absolutely, positively sure, here's how you can have no doubt whatsoever!

The Bible tells us that we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).  We've all done wrong, and in our fleshly bodies, we still do wrong, even as Christians. That will continue until we have our glorified, heavenly bodies!

The terrible news is that the payment for sin is death (Romans 6:23).  "But" (one of the best words in the Bible - a wonderful turn of events!) -- But the gift of God is eternal LIFE through Jesus Christ our Lord!  All we have to do to receive a gift is to ACCEPT it!  Take it!  It's completely free.  We don't pay for it!

You see, even while we were sinners, God loved us so much that He gave His own son to die for our sins - taking our payment for sin.  That's why Jesus died on the cross - to pay for our sins - all the wrong we would ever do. (Romans 5:8)  So we need to believe and accept God's free gift.

Then if I confess with my mouth what God has done for me, and believe in my heart that He has raised Jesus from the dead, I will be saved.  In my heart I believed, and with my mouth I confessed (told others) that Jesus saved my soul.  (Romans 10:9-10)

So, are you ready to take that most wonderful and final trip of a lifetime?

Are you as excited to leave on this trip - "without packing" - as I am?

Are you thrilled that you will meet your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as I am?

Are you as anxious to meet your loved ones who beat you to heaven as I am?

As one song writer wrote, "When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be!"

Please - Be There! 

If you are absolutely SURE that Heaven is your final destination, I am so glad!  We will meet there some day!  But if you know of others who may not be ready, please feel free to copy and paste this section and send it to them.

The Wordless Book

The Wordless Book was created by Child Evangelism Fellowship.  It is a wonderful tool to teach the gospel story in living color.  This is the song that goes with the book.  The five colors or words standing for certain colors are highlighted.  The word, blood, is demonstrated by the red page.  The green page stands for growing in Christ. 

My heart was black with sin, until the Savior came in.

His precious blood, I know, (red)

Has washed me white as snow.

And in God's Word, I'm told, I'll walk the street of gold.

To grow in Christ each day, I read my Bible and pray. (green)

A Wordless Book is very easy to make out of black, red, white, gold and green felt.  It can be made in any size, but I'll give you the dimensions of the books I've made.  The book cover is cut 2 3/4" x 4" and can be cut in any color.  The five colors are cut 1 7/8" x 2 1/4".  

Inside the wordless book cover which is folded in half, place the five pages in this order: page 1- black; page 2 - red; page 3 - white; page 4 - gold; page 5 - green.  Fold the cover over the five pages and sew down the folded edge about 1/4" from the edge with a hand running stitch or a straight stitch on a sewing machine.

A very young child (under 2) can easily learn this song or poem.  My grandson has learned how to read in kindergarten this past school year, and I showed him how to read the wordless book as I gave him one.  He was so fascinated and loved it!  I wrote the words to the song on a piece of paper for him and put the paper and wordless book in a sandwich bag just before their trip home last week.
