Show your children how to be friendly by being friendly yourself. You never know who just needed a smile today.
Don't shelter them when adults are speaking to them. Teach the child to
look into the face of the adult and learn to speak clearly.
Have the child stop what they are doing to show respect when people come into your home.
It does not matter the age of your children or those coming for a
visit. Hospitality is required by children to children as well as
adults.
Give them opportunities in public situations to communicate with other
adults and children. Teach them how to introduce themselves and ask
questions.
Teach your children to be on the look out for those in need.
